Zerk is one of the sweetest, goofiest dogs I have ever met. He truly believes he is a small baby still and loves to cuddle on the couch. He has one of the most natural off switches of any dog I have ever seen, but can be go-go-go with you for any adventure you may want to experience. He is a large male at 92 pounds, solid black with tan bleed through, and an intense gaze that is quite intimidating to those that do not know his true personality. He is aloof with strangers and does not care to be pet/interact with them unless he feels my emotional state is calm. He does not tolerate being man-handled by strangers and does prefer women over men. He has never attempted to correct someone for trying to push him around, but he will give clear warning signs that he is not ok with a situation-we have always respected these and therefore he is happy to communicate with us. Zerk has a crazy amount of drive for obedience (like his sister) and his grips are hard and full in protection. He has a natural nose for tracking and took very little direction to understand the concept. We achieved his BH on a whim, as I only decided a month before trial to compete with both him and his sister. He gives me his all every time I ask for it, and then some.
I am intrigued to see what Zerk may produce for puppies, but if you are looking for a male that is stable and clear headed-he's a very safe choice. I am happy to discuss further any questions that someone may have regarding him, and am 100% willing to let anyone meet him.
Females must (at minimum) have hips/elbows rated through OFA/SV. Ideally DM status be known but given that he is clear this is not a deal breaker for me. Bitch must be of stable temperament, and I want to test this beforehand. I do not expect that I would become her new best friend, but she shouldn't want to eat me just for existing.

NOT AVAILABLE FOR BREEDING

"Paco" is from our A litter between Chase Rilyn and Cobra. He is a very dominant, pushy male with maybe too much confidence. He is very aloof and does not accept new people at his home-he must meet anyone off our property. Once he knows someone he will tolerate them coming to his territory, but he still will not be found making friends with them. He is an interesting dog because he has zero interest in meeting new dogs, but will welcome baby puppies to climb all over him and bite him as much as they want.
Paco is our special needs guy, as he was born with an extremely rare condition called microglossia. Microglossia is a fancy word for "short tongue", but there are only a handful of adults diagnosed with the condition because most pups pass away by 7 weeks old either due to dehydration or malnutrition (per UW Madison School of Veterinary Medicine where he was diagnosed). He was the runt of that litter by far, being only 12.8oz at birth while his largest sibling was 24.8oz. I contribute this to his personality, as he had to fight his siblings that much harder to survive. At 4 weeks old he was the first to break out of their weaning pen, and did so shortly after I had left for work one night. I noticed only 4 puppies on camera when I looked, and momma spent more time than usual not in with the babies... and in the morning when our pet sitter Elizabeth came over-she found him in the basement. We don't know if he fell down each step, down the side, or what happened but he went on quite an adventure. During this, we do believe there was injury done to his brain stem as after that he started having "big dreams", which he still has today. He is assumed to have REM Sleep Behavior Disorder which is essentially the same thing as sleep walking in humans. If you check out our tiktok page you'll find a few videos showing just how big his dreams are!
It's obviously rare to see these uncommon diagnoses but even rarer to find one dog with two! Due to these though, Paco has been neutered as these are not things we want passed on to future generations.

Barrett is a super promising Search and Rescue K9 that I can't wait to see mature! Barrett lives with Chuck and Mary Muench, and has begun his training for area searches, cadaver, and evidence recovery. He is a high drive, goofy yet serious boy with immense potential. He is a pleasure to have around! Cobra really said copy-paste with this young man, as he looks like a spitting image of her!

Germany
Edge was my first purebred, import German Shepherd. Edge came to me from Germany in 2012, to be used as a police dog. After some issues adjusting to his new life in the US, I took Edge in for additional training. It didn't take long before I knew there was something special about him, and after a training incident at Walmart involving a small child-I knew he was meant to stay with me forever. When a young boy fell on top of Edge from behind as he was laying down, instead of a normal reaction of a dog trained in protection work, Edge turned to give the boy a lick on the face. He sealed the deal for me that day! I eventually finished Edge's training and he continues to work as a personally owned police K9. He performs in public demonstrations, assists in school sniffs, and is able to help in searching prisons and jails for narcotics. Edge has the temperament like no dog I have ever seen. He is the friendliest dog to anyone, but his judgement of character is so spot on that only a handful of times has he given me personality changes to make me question someone....and he has never been wrong!
I never knew the potential a relationship with an animal could have until I bonded to this boy. He truly is my heart and soul, and I have zero doubt that he would give his life for me without second guessing it. Unfortunately this sweet old man has completed his earthly journey and left us early 2022. We are devastated, both two legged and four without him around. He was simply the best dog in the whole world.

The one that started it all! Unfortunately we lost this little girl after 13.5 beautiful years together. Our lives haven't been the same since.
